Our 2025 Team Captains

During the first week of practice, runners had the opportunity to apply to be a team captain for the season. After reading through the applications, Coach Miller chose the following runners as our 2025 team captains.
Jennifer Duban is a sophomore running her second year of cross country. Jen believes team captains "...should encourage their teammates to be the best they can be and inspire the team to support each other." Jen also mentioned that she believes in the team's potential and wants each runner "to believe in themselves and each other."
Lincoln Calfo is a junior running his third year of cross country. Lincoln said "I always look out for my teammates and want to cultivate a great team culture.... I want to keep that culture of support [from last year's smaller team] and expand it to the larger team this year."
Molly Martin is also a junior running her third year of cross country. "I am a very encouraging person," Molly said in her captain application, "and I try to be someone people feel comfortable around." Molly the difficulty of cross country by saying "I know how hard this sport is so as a captain I will be able to relate to my peers and further support them."
Dani Erickson, another junior running her third year of cross country, talked about how she will lead by example. She also said "I wish to use my two years of previous cross country experience to be someone that anyone on the team can talk to about anything and feel supported."
Our final team captain, Anya Kutkoski, is our sole senior and has run for Lisle cross country for all of her four years. Anya talked about showing leadership by example by getting good grades, being involved in school, and her lofty goals for the cross country season. She also said "I want to help other team members in achieving their goals."
Although we have five official captains, every runner has the opportunity to lead in their own way. Here’s to a great season!
